Inaugural Think Tank Workshop, Brussels by EU-India Digital Policy Dialogue

Earlier this month, Shyam Krishnakumar, co-founder at The Pranava Institute, participated in the Inaugural Think Tank Workshop of the EU-India Digital Policy Dialogue, held on 1 October in Brussels.

The workshop brought together European and Indian research institutions and EU policymakers from DG CNECT and the European External Action Service (EEAS) to identify research priorities, gaps, and opportunities for collaboration under the Trade and Technology Council (TTC) framework.

Under the umbrella of the TTC, participants shared insights from ongoing research, identified gaps in EU–India digital cooperation, and laid the groundwork for structured collaboration throughout 2025–2026. The workshop focused on TTC Working Group 1’s six priority themes, emphasizing how research can support informed policymaking and address blind spots in the digital partnership.

This inaugural session marks the beginning of sustained, multi-stakeholder engagement in shaping the future of the EU–India digital agenda.

The Internet Accountability Forum, Brussels by Global Initiative on the Future of the Internet (GIFI)

Earlier this month, Shyam also joined representatives from the EU-India Digital Policy Dialogue Secretariat at the Internet Accountability Forum 2025, held on 2–3 October in Brussels, Belgium.

Organised by the Global Initiative on the Future of the Internet (GIFI) and implemented by the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (European University Institute), the two-day forum convened policymakers, researchers, civil society leaders, and private sector actors to explore actionable strategies for strengthening global internet accountability.

The discussions focused on advancing digital rightsdemocratic values, and responsible governance in the online space, contributing to the shared vision of a fair, open, and trustworthy digital future.
