Swaathi Vetrivel

Swaathi is a Research Fellow at The Pranava Institute, exploring how we can make technology more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive in a rapidly changing digital world. Drawing on her cross-sector experience, she takes a multidimensional approach to responsible tech deployment – moving beyond simplistic binaries of whether or not to deploy, and instead asking how we can consciously deploy technologies while being mindful of its longer-term consequences. She is excited about bridging theory and practice, and to work with a diverse range of stakeholders to co-create more holistic and grounded approaches to technology. She also brings Indian and other global South perspectives into the conversation, to enrich dominant paradigms and help shape more inclusive, sustainable, and joyful digital futures.

In addition, Swaathi is a socio-technical cybersecurity researcher in the TPM-Cybersecurity group at TU Delft in the Netherlands, where she is currently studying how enterprises can reshape their approach to patching by addressing the risk dynamics and incentives that shape vulnerability management.
