Amisha Mittal is a Research Analyst at The Pranava Institute.
At Pranava, Amisha looks forward to exploring how human behaviour, across cultures and contexts, shapes the design and deployment of Emotional AI. Emotional AI raises important questions about how machines perceive and simulate human emotions, and she is particularly interested in examining the cultural dimensions of this technology and its implications for policy. She looks forward to engaging with diverse stakeholders and contributing to projects across the institute’s mandate, while building research on the ethical, social, and legal frameworks that can guide the future of technology.
Background
Amisha’s work and interests revolve around emerging tech regulation and its interdisciplinary nature, sustainability, and data privacy. Amisha holds a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from the National University of Singapore where she has worked as a Graduate Researcher at the Centre for International Law in the AI and Technology department. She completed her undergraduate studies in law from O.P. Jindal Global University, India (JGU). She has previously also served as a part time Teaching and Research Assistant at JGU.
